Batters:
- Only two players
are allowed out of the dugout while a team is at bat, the player
batting and
the player on deck. Both
players must
wear a batting helmet. All
other players
must remain in the dugout.
Fielders:
- All available
players play defense.
- The infield will
be the standard positions, with one additional Rover.
The Rover will be assigned a position at the
start of the inning and remain in this position for the entire inning. The Rover has to be at
least 5 ft. from
behind second base before the ball is pitched.
- All other players
will be evenly placed in the outfield.
All
outfield players must start each pitch no closer than the grass line.
Overthrows:
- No base runner
will advance on overthrows to first base.
- Runners will only
be allowed one base on overthrows to second or third.
Player running to first will not advance on
overthrows to second or third base.
Player running to second will advance only to third
base; player running
from second to third will advance to home.
Umpires:
- The league will
provide an authorized person who will be positioned behind the catcher. This person will count
balls, strikes, call
outs, make all calls at first, second, third and home bases, determine
placement of runners on overthrows, retrieve pitched balls and make
sure the
bats are removed after each batter.
- COACHES
ARE NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE CALLS.
- ARGUING
WITH THE UMPIRE IS NOT ALLOWED!
Coaching:
- There will be no
defensive coaching allowed on the playing field during the inning.
- During play
coaches must be in or near the dugout at all times or in the coaching
boxes
while on offense.
Misc.
Rules:
- Girl Pitcher:
After a four (4) ball count, a friendly coach will pitch, from the
pitchers’
circle. A maximum
of three pitches by
the friendly coach will be allowed.
The
bat cannot end with a foul ball.
Therefore if the batter hits the third pitch foul, and
it did not get
caught, the batter gets another pitch.
The batter will receives pitches until she does not
hit a foul ball. At
anytime the batter hits a foul ball and it
gets caught, the batter is out.
- Base runners may
not lead off until the ball is released by the pitcher/coach.
- Every player must
play the infield at least one inning.
Managers are strongly encouraged to rotate the players
evenly between
the outfield and the infield. Safety must be a consideration.
- There is to be no
more than one manager and two coaches on the field and one coach or
parent in
the dugout during the game, all other parents and scorekeepers must be
behind
the fence.
- The maximum runs
allowed per inning is 4, sliding is not allowed.
- The home team is
responsible for field preparation and providing the field umpire.
- Rookies play with
standard ASA rules.
